An MTC Vital Signs report shows more employees than ever are working from home as a way to avoid traffic and public transit.

But do employers trust employees to work as hard from home when not under the watchful eyes of bosses? What do co-workers who remain in the office think?

An Ohio University researcher concluded that "productivity of the whole team hinges on whether office-based workers think their remote colleagues are getting things done."

No matter what the thought on working from home, it's here to  stay. Technology allows large numbers of Bay Area residents to work at home and the MTC expects to see the trend grow in the coming years.
