MTC is a sponsor of the seventh annual Bay Area Transit Month, which lasts all of September and celebrates the role of transit in the region, while featuring events, rides, and prizes.

Events include Bay Area transit agencies hosting “All Aboard with Transit CEOs,” a public ride-along and summer social on Friday, Sept. 16, from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Meet General Managers, CEOs, and Executive Directors from: BART, SFMTA, AC Transit, SamTrans, VTA, WETA (San Francisco Bay Ferry), Marin Transit, County Connection, Golden Gate Transit, and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). Details of that event are here: https://www.allaboardbayarea.com/.

Riders logged almost 3,000 transit trips during last year’s Transit Month Ride Contest, covering every transit agency in the Bay Area. To sign up for this year’s contest visit: https://ridecontest.org/.

Transit Month spotlights work of the Bay Area's 27 transit agencies to keep people moving in the region. From commuting multiple days a week, traveling to school, visiting a favorite place, or taking occasional trips, transit agencies are there to get the public to destinations. Visit Operator/Service Information for the latest from each transit provider.
