The Union of Concerned Scientists believes electric vehicles are key to fighting climate change.

Switching to electric vehicle will lessen the amount of emissions that pollute the atmosphere that bring about climate change, according to the group, a nonprofit science advocacy organization.

Electric vehicles will also be less expensive to operate in the long term, because their fuel source is cheaper and more stable than gasoline.

The sooner the change happens the better as time is a major issue in fighting climate concerns, the group notes.
