Come celebrate the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District's 50th Anniversary of public open space preservation, protection, restoration, access and education. The event begins at 11 a.m. Saturday. Register for the free festival here.

Midpen is a critical part of the San Francisco Bay Trail, a joint project of MTC and the Association of Bay Area Governments that envisions a 500-mile regional trail along the shoreline of 47 Bay Area cities.

Midpen's Bayside Family Festival at Ravenswood Preserve and Cooley Landing of East Palo Alto will be fun for nature lovers of all ages. Explore the Bay Trail through a Discovery Journey walk and scavenger hunt stopping along the route to talk with naturalists at educational stations. Food trucks will be on site. The event will also feature wildlife demonstrations, live music and dance groups.

All event parking is offsite at Ravenswood Family Health Center (1885 Bay Rd, East Palo Alto, CA 94303) and EPACENTER (2480 Pulgas Ave, East Palo Alto, CA 94303). Complimentary shuttle service will take guests to Cooley Landing or it is a short 10-minute walk.
