Caltrain's electrification project is more than halfway done, according to a report in the San Mateo Daily Journal.
The project is slated for completion next year, although the pandemic could cause delays.
MTC has been a partner in the Caltrain electrification project, which has been a key regional priority for more than 20 years.
MTC has directed over $1 billion to Caltrain for modernization initiatives since the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, which owns and operates Caltrain, was formed more than 30 years ago. This includes more than $350 million to electrify the corridor and deliver Positive Train Control systems.
