As the 49ers ready for kickoff at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara for the NFC Championship Game, public transit is offering an easy way to the stadium without the hassles of traffic, expensive parking and long walks to the venue.

MTC and Bay Area transit agencies are encouraging fans going to Levi's Stadium to:

  • Take public transit
  • Pre-load Clipper funds on your mobile phone ahead of time
  • Visit clippercard.com for more information about using Clipper on your phone

Valley Transit Authority's light rail conveniently stops right in front of the stadium. VTA has information on how to take light rail to the stadium on its website. Contact customer.service@vta.org or call (408) 321-2300 before your trip with any questions. VTA ambassador staff will be at key locations pointing customers to their boarding locations and providing information.

VTA buses will also drop off guests at two locations on game day: Intersection of Tasman Drive and Great America Parkway and Intersection of Tasman Drive and Calle Del Sol.

While BART doesn't link directly to the stadium, VTA connects with BART at the Milpitas Station. Transfer from BART to the VTA Orange line which serves Levi's Stadium.

Caltrain riders heading to the 49ers game should transfer to VTA light rail at the Mountain View station.

Capitol Corridor is also offering service to Sunday's big game for fans coming from the Sacramento area and the East Bay. Fans who take the train will be able to get an early start on tailgating by enjoying drinks and snacks available onboard the Café Car. The train stops adjacent to the stadium. First time riders can get tips on how to ride Capitol Corridor trains on the Capitol Corridor website. For schedules, fares, trip-planning and train status call 1-877-9-RIDECC (1-877-974-3322).

Altamont Commuter Express is also providing train service to the 49ers game with stations in San Joaquin County and the East Bay. ACE trains also stop adjacent to the stadium. For assistance with purchasing a special train ticket, call (800) 411-7245 or customerservice@acerail.com.
