Preview of 3/9 Meeting: Operations, Joint MTC Planning and ABAG Administration, Joint MTC and ABAG Legislation, Joint MTC Commission and Policy Advisory Council

Four meeting will be held on Friday, March 9, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Bay Area Metro Center, including the MTC Operations Committee, Joint MTC Planning and ABAG Administrative Committees, Joint MTC and ABAG Legislative Committees, and Joint MTC Commission and MTC Policy Advisory Council.

The MTC Operations Committee meeting will be a brief approval of the consent calendar (see agenda here).

At the Joint MTC Planning Committee with the ABAG Administrative Committee meeting, staff will request approval of a proposed amendment to Plan Bay Area 2040 (Plan) and the Amended 2017 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) to revise the cost and scope of the U.S. 101 Managed Lanes Project in San Mateo County, and request approval of two companion technical documents that demonstrate the Amended Plan and Amended TIP comply with federal transportation conformity and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirements. At the Joint MTC Legislation Committee and ABAG Legislation Committee, major items include discussion of a state bill that will allow three-position bicycle racks to be used on 60 foot articulated buses (see handout), a summary of the 2018 housing landscape in Sacramento including analysis of potential Bay Area impacts from housing-related bills (see handout), and an overview of the Trump Administration’s proposed FY 2019 Federal Budget and the White House Infrastructure Initiative (see handout). Finally, the Joint MTC Commission and MTC Policy Advisory Council will be holding a joint planning session to review the Council’s work over the last few years and to discuss the Council’s 2018-19 work plan. Download the full agenda for more information.
