New Year's Eve = Free rides!

Many of the Bay Area's transit agencies will be offering free rides on New Year's Eve to get residents around safely. Here is a list:

AC Transit is offering free rides on all lines beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Caltrain will be free New Year’s Eve starting at 8 p.m. and ending at 2 a.m. Wednesday.

MUNI rides will be free starting 8 p.m. Tuesday, through 5 a.m. Wednesday

Samtrans will also offer the free rides from 8 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday.

VTA is offering free rides through Tuesday as part of a promotion connected to new routes.

BART will not be free, but will extend hours until 3 a.m. Wednesday, three hours later than usual.
