MTC and the Association of Bay Area Governments announce the launch of the refreshed Bay Area Census website at BayAreaCensus.ca.gov.

The site features the latest data available from the United States Census Bureau, with a focus on the needs of the Bay Area. Highlights of the new website include:
- Interactive dashboards that break down data by year and location. See data for 2000, 2010 or 2020 by city, county or for the entire region.
- Layer on demographic elements including age, sex, race, household type, household size and more.
- The dashboards feature a high-level text summary, bar graphs and doughnut charts that demonstrate trends at a glance, along with the numerical figures and percentages.
- Users can download data sets that they can use offline.
- The historical census data from 1950 through 1990 has been maintained on this site, offering information that cannot be easily found elsewhere.
The Bay Area Census website is a project from the joint staff of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Association of Bay Area Governments.
