Beginning Tuesday, more scooters are expected to be rolling around the streets of San Francisco as new permitting takes effect.
As of Tuesday, Jump, Lime and Spin are authorized to put 500 scooters each on the streets. The cap increases to 750 on Dec. 15 and to 1,000 on Feb. 15.
Scoot, which already has a permit, will operate up to 1,000 scooters, down from the 1,250 scooters under the last permit.
Joe Fitzgerald Rodriguez of the San Francisco Examiner wrote about the scooter issue last month.
