Hand sanitizer is now available at BART stations as the agency addresses COVID-19.

Hand sanitizer dispensers were installed this week at stations with the agency saying it has enough of a supply to last 7 to 10 days. BART is working to purchase more.

Increased cleaning and disinfecting continues. BART ridership for Wednesday was 268,192 representing a 35% drop compared to an average Wednesday last month, according to the agency.

BART officials noted that because trains are less full, riders can remain an arm-lengths distance from others on trains and on platforms.
