The Bay Area's affordable housing crisis will be the subject of the first Bay Area Metro Talks Equity Series launching Wednesday, June 3 at 10 a.m.
The hour-long forum will look at the housing affordability crisis and equity, which was already a major public policy challenge before the pandemic.
Speakers will include:
- Conor Dougherty: Economics reporter for The New York Times and author of "Golden Gates: Fighting for Housing in America"
- Lorena Melgarejo: Executive Director of Faith in Action
- Steven Falk: Interim Oakland City Administrator and former Lafayette City Manager
- Therese McMillan (moderator): Executive Director, MTC-ABAG
The 60-minute session will be split between a panel discussion and live Q&A with audience members. Live zoom video accessible via Eventbrite registration.
The Metro Talks Equity Series is a special set of public forums to seed and exchange ideas on how the Bay Area can transform for the better. The forums bring together prominent leaders and experts to discuss significant regional issues like housing, community development, climate change, the economy, technology, and transportation.
