Caltrain reduces monthly pass by 20%

Caltrain has announced its reducing the price of its monthly pass by 20% from April to September. Riders can purchase an April Pass starting this week.

Caltrain is providing the discount to encourage people returning to work to take advantage of transit, while also providing some financial relief for those that have been riding regularly throughout the pandemic, the agency said.

A monthly pass provides the added benefit of free rides between the zones selected on weekdays, and allows the passholder to ride any distance free on weekends and holidays.

Monthly passes are only available through Clipper, allowing for touchless payments, while also providing additional discounts for transfers to or from other transit systems, including VTA, SamTrans, SFMTA and Dumbarton Express. Riders can sign up for a Clipper card at their website or by using a Clipper machine at the San Francisco, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Redwood City, Millbrae or Palo Alto stations, as well as hundreds of retail vendors.
