BART will hold a “Race for Space” Twitter Town Hall, from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 20 at @SFBART.
The agency will address its Transbay Corridor Core Capacity Project that will increase passenger capacity through the Transbay Tube by 45%. That plan includes new rail cars, a new train control system to run trains closer together, a new rail car storage yard and more traction power substations to handle the increased load, BART says.
But funding for the project is held up in the Federal Transit Administration’s Capital Investment Grants Program.
BART experts from operations and planning teams will be on hand to answer questions about the project and take other questions.
