The normally bustling Bay Bridge was virtually empty this week as a shelter in place order was issued for most of the Bay Area.
Photographer Karl Nielsen roamed the Bay Area, documenting the empty streets, bridges and transportation infrastructure.
One of his shots included the Bay Bridge, where the number of vehicles could easily be counted.
More of Nielsen's photos will be featured here in the coming days.
