BART is working to re-imagine transit service as the region begins to reopen and riders return.
With the public looking for reassurances that service is as safe as possible and social distancing is followed, BART is taking 15 steps while continuing to explore new measures and technologies that could assist in a safe recovery.
Some of the steps include:
- Cleaning
- Running long trains
- More frequent service
- New seat configurations
- Require face coverings
This plan was released on May 27, 2020 and is now being updated as BART follows through on developing new response strategies.
