Vegas likely to use Musk tunnel transport

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority announced Wednesday that its recommending the selection of Elon Musk's The Boring Company to design, construct and operate a people mover in the city.

The route would encompass the Las Vegas Convention Center via a loop of underground express-route tunnels that would carry passengers in autonomous electric vehicles at high speeds.

The project  would ave the potential to connect the downtown, the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Las Vegas Boulevard Resort Corridor, McCarran International Airport and beyond.

If it proves successful, the technology could also be used in other cities as a way to get people around. The system is set to open in Las Vegas in early 2021.
