The U.S. Department of Transportation released its third quarter numbers and it shows flights have yet to return to pre-pandemic levels.

The total number of flights operated in September 2021 were 86% of those in September 2019. Flights operated in the first nine months of 2021 were 76% of the flights during the same period in pre-pandemic 2019.

The report includes which airlines had the best and worst on time records, which carriers cancelled the most flights and how much baggage was mishandled, among other factoids.

Other aviation consumer matters of interest to the public can be found at http://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer. The report is designed to inform consumers about the quality of the services that airlines provide.
