The latest edition of OpenRoad with Doug McConnell will celebrate the successful growth of the San Francisco Bay Trail. OpenRoad airs this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. on NBC Bay Area.

The Bay Trail increasingly circumnavigates the Bay’s shoreline and provides a vast array of recreational opportunities and non-polluting transportation options for millions of Bay Area residents.

OpenRoad imagines the completion of the 500-mile long trail and looks at how public agencies are planning to make the trail resilient to rising seas that will otherwise submerge it in the coming years.

The Bay Trail is a project of MTC and the Association of Bay Area Governments. Today, more than 350 miles of trail have been built along the perimeter of the Bay.
