Sonoma County Transit will resume fare collection on Monday, Feb. 1. Fare collection was halted in mid-March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since that time, passenger boarding and departing has been restricted to rear doors only to limit passenger and driver interaction.
In December, all large Sonoma County Transit buses were equipped with driver protection barriers in anticipation of the return of front door boarding and fare collection.
Passengers using routes 24, 28, 32, 66, 67 and 68 will continue to ride free under the local Shuttle Fare-Free program. Through June 30, 2021, Rohnert Park/Cotati local routes 10, 12 and 14 will be included in the Fare-Free program.
