Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit passengers are talking about their experiences on the fledgling railroad.
SMART opened two new stations in December, with rail service coming to Larkspur and downtown Novato in Marin County. The new Larkspur stop allows North Bay commuters to take the train to the ferry to get to jobs in San Francisco.
SMART service began from the Santa Rosa Airport to downtown San Rafael in August 2017 and has carried more than 1.6 million passengers to date.
MTC has provided financial support for SMART. SMART is also working on extending further north to Windsor in Sonoma County by the end of 2021.
