San Francisco and San Jose have the second and third highest percentage of homes for sale of more than $1 million, according to a new survey from Point2Homes.

Point2 analysts looked at for-sale inventory in 30 large, 30 mid-sized and 30 small cities to rank them according to the availability of high-end housing.

The survey shows large cities in California have big shares of homes up for sale for at least $1 million.  Los Angeles (64%) and San Francisco (62%) are closely followed by San Jose and San Diego (both around 60%).

San Francisco homes are priced at $1.3 million, and San Jose’s are almost there at $1.24 million, according to the report. While termed "luxury," many of the homes are simple, single-family homes, the report notes.
