CoworkingMag issued a list of the best U.S. cities for "digital nomads", and San Francisco makes the list in third place, behind Miami and Atlanta.

With employees having the option to work from anywhere in the world some have become nomadic and it can become overwhelming to pick just one place or make a list of worthy destinations, the report notes.

CoworkingMag took into consideration metrics important to digital nomads, such as coworking space prices and density, cost of living, walkability, public Wi-Fi availability, internet speed, and entertainment options.

Landing in third place, San Francisco is a techie’s dream city. Internet speeds are lightning-fast, averaging 504.49 Mbps, ranking fifth in the category, the report notes.

Furthermore, it ranks second for traveler accommodations density at 6.06 per square mile and takes the top spot for walkability with a score of 88.7.

Coworking spaces are on the pricier side at $470 per month and the Cost of Living Index is a high 170.8, but San Francisco’s cutting-edge vibe and incredible infrastructure make it a top-tier choice for those who want to be at the heart of innovation.

Its proximity to Silicon Valley is also a plus, according to the study.

More details regarding the metrics can be found in the methodology section of the study.
