With the Outside Lands Music Festival opening in Golden Gate Park Friday, transit operators are offering several ways to attend the event without having to drive and look for expensive parking.
The festival posted this message on its website:
"Parking is extremely limited and reserved for residents of the surrounding neighborhoods. Parking is not available at the festival grounds. We strongly recommend you do not drive to the festival. Skip the hassle and use alternative methods of travel including the festival shuttle, rideshares, MUNI, BART, walking, scooter and bikes. Be sure to review the Travel & Transportation section of our Info page for all the best alternatives."
To make travel easier, concert-goers can add Clipper to their mobile wallets before the three-day event. Visit clippercard.com for more information about using Clipper on a smart phone.
- The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has a page dedicated a page to travel to the festival.
- BART suggests taking its trains and using Muni to get to the site.
- Capitol Corridor is also promoting its service as a way to get to Outside Lands.
- MTC is the transportation planning, funding and coordinating agency for the nine-county Area.
MTC operates the Clipper system on behalf of the region’s transit agencies.
