The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency has issued a mobility trends report outlining how the growing city will face transportation issues in the coming years.

The report notes San Francisco has grown dramatically over the  last decade, adding 78,000 residents and more than 175,000 jobs since 2009. The city now has a population of 883,000 and 720,000 jobs.

San Francisco is facing an array of transportation challenges. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency is continuing to encourage and promote sustainable modes like transit, bicycling and walking.

With San Francisco projected to grow by another 200,000 residents and add 150,000 jobs by 2040, more needs to be done and the report suggests sustainable modes as an answer.
