Construction began this week on the Corte Madera Marsh restoration project to restore four acres of Golden Gate Bridge District-owned parcel to tidal marsh, bolstering the habitat for endangered species, including the Ridgeway’s Rail, and adding amenities along a reconfigured recreational path.

Once complete, recreational users will have access to a new berm around the restored tidal marsh that will connect into the remaining portions of the trail, creating a loop similar to the existing trail.

The District will also be installing new benches, trash cans, and native plants along the reconfigured recreational loop.

The new loop trail will be fully open to the public once construction is complete in early 2021.
