The U.S. Department of Transportation released its July 2021 Air Travel Consumer Report and it shows flights increasing.

The total number of flights operated have not rebounded to pre-pandemic levels but have increased significantly since the all-time monthly lows in 2020. The total number of flights operated in May 2021 reached 76% of pre-pandemic levels with 517,709 flights.

The report includes which airlines had the best and worst on time records, which carriers cancelled the most flights and how much baggage was mishandled, among other factoids.

Other aviation consumer matters of interest to the public can be found at http://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer.

The report is designed to inform consumers about the quality of the services that airlines provide.
