The U.S. Department of Transportation released its October 2021 Air Travel Consumer Report and it shows flights have yet to return to pre-pandemic levels.
The total number of flights operated in August 2021 reached 84% of pre-pandemic levels. Flights operated in August 2021 were 50% more than the flights operated in August 2020.
The report includes which airlines had the best and worst on time records, which carriers cancelled the most flights and how much baggage was mishandled, among other factoids.
