New research that turned up on SFGate shows the majority of people who left California in 2017 went to Texas.

Interestingly, the same report shows a large number of Texans leaving to take residence in California.

In all, 661,000 people left California, while 523,000 people arrived from other parts of the country. Immigration from other countries brought in another 316,000 new California residents.

For those who left, affordable housing was one of the reasons cited, an issue being addressed by ABAG and MTC.
