Capitol Corridor Seeks Public Input on South Bay Route

Capitol Corridor

The Capitol Corridor has officially launched the environmental process for the proposed South Bay Connect project and wants to hear from the public on Wednesday, July 15. South Bay Connect would relocate the Capitol Corridor passenger rail service between Oakland and San Jose for a shorter, more direct route.

The agency is hosting two live interactive sessions on Wednesday, July 15, where you can interact with project team members, ask questions, and submit formal comments during the project’s 45-day public scoping period.

The live chat can be found  at southbayconnect.com starting at Noon PST. There is a chat icon in the bottom right corner of our website where project team members will be taking your comments and questions.

Then, at 6 p.m. PST, the Telephone Town Hall will begin. Dial in to hear project information and talk directly with project team members in English, Spanish, or Mandarin Chinese.

·       English (833) 380-0651

·       Spanish (833) 380-0645

·       Mandarin Chinese (833) 380-0649

South Bay Connect is a key component of the agency's 2016 Vision Implementation Plan.

Comments on the proposed South Bay Connect project will be accepted until 5 p.m. on August 13, 2020.
