Caltrain will host a public hearing later this month to gather feedback on potential changes to its fare structure as the rail agency continues to work on recovery plans as a result of the pandemic.
Caltrain is seeking public comment on a proposed extension of the 20% discount on the monthly pass fare product through June 30, 2023. In March, the discount was approved through September 2021.
The agency is providing this discount to encourage people returning to work to take advantage of transit, while also providing some financial relief for those that have been riding regularly.
Though not part of the hearing, the public will also have an opportunity to provide feedback on postponing fare increases approved by the Board of Directors in 2019.
