San Francisco's first Bus Rapid Transit System will appear in 2021 after ongoing upgrades to Van Ness Avenue are completed.
The project also includes extensive utility maintenance, civic improvements and pedestrian safety enhancements designed to transform the busy north-south corridor.
But the main attraction will be the enhanced bus travel with lanes that will be separated from car traffic, speeding commute times.
