The Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA) received a Housing Heroes Award from the Housing Action Coalition this month in honor of the initiative’s innovative set of funding and finance tools— including the ability to place a Bay Area-wide ballot measure before voters to raise funds for housing.

BAHFA is proposing a $10-20 billion regional bond measure on the November 2024 ballot to invest in the production and preservation of affordable housing.

BAHFA shared the stage with the Bay Area Housing For All (BAHA) Coalition, which was recognized for its work to educate voters and stakeholders on the bond measure.

“The importance of the partnership between BAHFA and the BAHA Coalition can't be understated. Ushering in $10-$20 billion in funding for affordable housing will have a transformative impact on the state of housing in the Bay Area,” the Housing Action Coalition said in their award announcement.
