The Partnership for the Bay’s Future has announced $5 million in grants focused on advancing equitable housing policies.

The Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA) in partnership with Urban Habitat, Bay Area Community Land Trust, and Unity Council, will receive a grant. BAHFA will receive a two-year fellow as part of the award.

The housing policy fellow will be embedded in BAHFA to provide expertise on community-driven policy and act as a catalyst to advance policy innovation. The fellowship is a salaried, two-year, leadership opportunity for experienced and entrepreneurial affordable housing professionals. Applications are open now and close March 9. Learn more and apply here: https://coronorcal.org/program/the-partnership-for-the-bays-future-fellowship/.

Overall, the Partnership for the Bay’s Future grants will focus on developing and advancing policies that preserve and produce affordable housing. Each government entity partners with one or more community organizations to ensure that the community voices who are often left out of the process are represented when developing local housing policies.

BAHFA is a shared initiative of ABAG and the MTC, in partnership with cities and counties, to step up efforts to address the Bay Area’s chronic housing affordability challenges. MTC and ABAG have committed to expanding the agencies’ regional housing portfolio and BAHFA represents a key financial pillar of these efforts.
