Mentees will work with a dedicated mentor from June 12 through Aug. 4, 2023, in the office and remotely. During the eight-week program, mentees will be involved in a variety of tasks aimed at expanding their range of career interests and encouraging them to consider government work as a future career choice.

Mentees will be matched with an area of interest that may include working with these MTC departments:

  • Technology services: Maintaining the technology needs of MTC staff, including supporting hardware and cloud software systems.
  • Legislation and public affairs: Engaging members of the public on MTC programs and policies, and working with legislative staffs in Sacramento and Washington, D.C.
  • Regional planning program/major plans: Work on updates to the region’s long-range plan, Plan Bay Area 2050+, and other programs that support transportation and housing policies.
  • Budget and financial planning and analysis: Supporting distribution of state and federal funds to programs throughout the region, and analyzing the impact of these programs.
