Apple is presenting new data that looks at how travel and transportation has been affected by COVID-19.

In the Bay Area, the number of people driving is down 51 percent, biking has decreased 69 percent and transit ridership has dropped 81 percent since January, according to the Apple data.

Launched about a month ago, Apple's "Mobility Trends Report" takes information generated by looking at requests made to Apple Maps for directions.

The data is then compared to reflect a change in volume of people driving, walking or taking public transit around the world.
