The U.S. Department of Transportation released its February 2021 Air Travel Consumer Report, which includes data for all of 2020.

The report includes which airlines had the best and worst on time records, which carriers canceled the most flights and how much baggage was mishandled, among other factoids.

For 2020, the three airlines with the best on-time records were:

1.    Hawaiian Airlines  – 87.5%

2.    Delta Air Lines  – 87.2%

3.    Spirit Airlines – 86.6%

The bottom three:

1.    Allegiant Air – 71.3%

2.    JetBlue Airways – 82.1%

3.    American Airlines  – 82.3%

Interestingly, during pandemic-stricken 2020, carriers posted an on-time arrival rate of 84.5%, a higher rate than 79% in 2019. But carriers canceled 6% of their scheduled domestic flights in 2020, compared to a rate of 1.9% in 2019.
