Soltrans

Solano County's Soltrans will receive $1.85 million for its electric bus fleet as part of a federal award announced Tuesday.

SolTrans will receive the funding to plan, construct, and install electrical charging infrastructure, including on route charging at transit centers, for a future all-electric bus fleet.

The project will improve the safety and reliability of transit service for residents of Vallejo and Benicia and communities throughout southern Solano County.

The Federal Transit Administration will award $464 million in transit infrastructure grants nationwide to improve the safety and reliability of America’s bus systems and enhance mobility for transit riders. The funding supports projects to replace, rehabilitate, and purchase buses and related equipment, as well as projects to purchase, rehabilitate, and construct bus-related facilities.
